Logos for Members Use
The CGTF provides three categories of certification. It is important to know what each category means, and also how members may identify themselves. It is required through the Code of Ethics that members accurately identify themselves. As a reminder, CGTF membership can be revoked for improper use of a member’s correct membership logo.
Associate Member
Associate Members are qualified to teach all facets of the game to average golfers. Associate Members must identify themselves with the words “Associate Member” when describing their CGTF membership. Affiliate Members are not allowed to describe themselves as a “CGTF Professional” or “Certified CGTF Member,” for example. Phrases that would be acceptable are “CGTF Associate Member Teaching Professional” and “Certified CGTF Associate Member.”

Fully-Certified Member (Certified Golf Teaching Professional®)
Certified Golf Teaching Professionals are qualified to teach all facets of the game to above-average players and have successfully completed the verbal teaching and playing ability tests. Fully-Certified members may identify themselves with almost any phrase, including “CGTF Professional” and “CGTF Certified Golf Teaching Professional®.” These members may participate in the United States Golf Teachers Cup® and World Golf Teachers Cup®. The phrase “Certified Golf Teaching Professional” is a United States federally registered trademark owned by the CGTF.

They have earned the right to call themselves a “CGTF Master Golf Teaching Professional®,” and have demonstrated a teaching knowledge and ability to the highest order. The phrase “Master Golf Teaching Professional” is a United States Federal Registered Trademark owned by the CGTF.
